Every Bevel & Grain piece begins with hardwoods from the Taconic Mountains, shaped and finished by hand in East Nassau, NY. From cutting and charcuterie boards to coasters and maple syrup, our work is made to take a beating in the kitchen and still earn a place at the table.
We love custom work just as much as standard sizes. Please email us with your dimensions or preferred woods, and we’ll design a piece made exactly for you. We also make chess and checker boards.

The hands behind the craft
I’ve always had one foot in the woods and the other behind the bar. I built a career as a whiskey expert in New York’s hospitality world, but I never lost my lifelong pull toward woodcraft. Bevel & Grain is where those paths meet — fine hardwoods from the Taconic Mountains, shaped by hand, built to last, and ideal for hosting. Every cutting board, coaster, and bottle of maple syrup we make reflects the same spirit I’ve always valued in a good drink: strong, deliberate, and best when shared.
Care instructions
With a little care, your purchase will serve you for decades.
Clean as needed with soap and water, but don't let it soak -- boards don't like baths. Whenever wood starts to look dry, rub in a small amount of food-safe mineral oil or beeswax.
